Feeling: Quiet
Hearing: an annoying bird screeching monotonously
Having just painstakingly drawn out a five-barred gate in foreshortened perspective and a weathered old stump next to it, I now delay drawing out some dog roses and foliage scrambling over them in close detail.
The incentive, as ever, is to post the completed picture in www.grenvilleallen.com. And to surprise myself.
I intend to paint the intensity of a hedgerow in high summer with the open gate leading in repoussoir fashion on to the poppy fields and distant downs beyond. There'll be a classic cerulean blue sky with a few little pillow clouds drifting by, and all will be painted in my usual deliberately slow and careful manner with quadruple and quintuple nought brushes. Working title? A World Beyond.
